Scar Therapy

Specialised care to soften scar tissue, improve mobility, and support optimal healing.

Scar therapy is a gentle, targeted treatment designed to help improve the texture, flexibility, and appearance of scars following surgery, injury, or trauma. It can reduce tightness, adhesions, and discomfort while promoting healthier tissue and better mobility.

Tatjana combines advanced scar therapy techniques with her experience in manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) and post-operative care to provide safe, effective, and personalised treatments tailored to each client’s healing stage.

  • Visual and hands-on assessment of the scar and surrounding tissue

    2. Manual Scar Therapy

  • Gentle hands-on techniques to release tightness, improve tissue mobility, and reduce adhesions

  • Focus on improving circulation, lymphatic flow, and flexibility around the scar

    3. Silicone Cupping (if suitable)

  • Soft, controlled vacuum suction to lift the tissue safely

  • Helps break down tight or fibrotic areas

When to Have

Scar Therapy

Scar therapy can be started once the skin has healed and your healthcare provider has confirmed it is safe. As a general guide:

  • 6–8 weeks after surgery (once the wound is fully healed and closed)

  • After stitches or steri-strips are removed and there are no open areas

  • When swelling has reduced and bruising has mostly settled

  • For older scars – treatment can still be very effective months or even years after surgery or injury

  • Post-C-section – usually from 8 weeks once the scar is closed and stable

  • Post-orthopaedic surgery (knee or hip replacement) – when the incision is fully healed and cleared by your surgeon or physio

  • After trauma or broken bones – once the area is medically healed and no longer inflamed

Tatjana will always assess the scar first to ensure the treatment is appropriate and safe based on your healing stage.
